Welding, Metal Fabrication

This field of study equips trainees with the skills needed to work with many different types of products made of metal.

You learn how to:

  • Select and prepare all material which goes into the steel construction. Machining fabrication materials and components

  • Fitting, setting, and installing fabricated structures

  • Cutting and welding with a variety of processes

  • Repair, design, layout, and estimation Metal forming, bending, and finishing Assemble parts by bolting, riveting or welding

  • May perform manual or semi-automatic welding.

  • To handle and perform arc-welding, Gas Tungsten Arc (TIG) and Gas Metal Arc (MIG)

  • Please Note:

  • Training is conducted over four years, 1st – 3rd year is six months in the Institute and six months in Industry (job attachment position).

  • 4th Year - 10 months in industry and two months in the Institute for trade test preparation.
